The iCross Cultural Citizen Project; Our Indigenous World: The Aborigines: GROUP 1

A cultural anthropology assignment dedicated to the people of the indigenous group, the Australian Aborigines. As a group, we wish to raise awareness of diversity by commemorating the differences of the Aborigine people and their culture. With this blog, we only hope to deactivate all bias and erroneous beliefs and all misconceptions towards cultures that aren't our own. Hopefully, this implies the realization in all of us that the world of today is not one of passive learners.

Geographic Location

The Aborigines are located in the island Tasmania in Australia. They had no actual permanent place where they lived, but they did have territories and gathered to eat and catch whatever they could and where they could. They hunted in the central and western regions of the deserts in Australia.

Vision

The iCross-Cultural Citizen Project’s vision is to create an online cross-cultural space for students, professionals, and youth to learn and exchange cross-culturally sensitive information about contemporary indigenous experiences. From that outsider student’s perspective, we will try to theoretically explore possible collaborative solutions to problems that affect the indigenous populations of our planet. Finally, we hope for the future creation of a space where indigenous youth can share their experiences and their realities with us for real mutual collaboration to take place.
