Technology

Tools and technology implement vary from different groups around the world. Aborigines were the first to introduce ground edges on cutting tools and to grind seeds. Stone technology allowed Aborigines to make new tools, chop wood, prepare food and animal skins. Two popular tools they used were spear throwers and boomerangs.

Spear throwers were invented by the Aboriginal people. A woomera, a type of spear thrower, is a lever that acts to increase the speed of the thrown spear. It acts as a multipurpose tool. For example, it can chop firewood or cut down branches for shelter. Boomerangs, also invented by the Aborigines, were used for hunting kangaroos or ducks.

The Aborigines were able to survive for so long due to their creativity, from inventing tools that helped them hunt for food and create huts for shelter. It's amazing what a group can create based on limited resources. I always thought spears originated from the Native Americans, but it turns out all spears originated from the Aborigines. Through researching for information, technology in among the Aborigines mean hunting tools and weave baskets because with these advancements, they were able to survive and populate the Australian area.
