A cultural anthropology assignment dedicated to the people of the indigenous group, the Australian Aborigines. As a group, we wish to raise awareness of diversity by commemorating the differences of the Aborigine people and their culture. With this blog, we only hope to deactivate all bias and erroneous beliefs and all misconceptions towards cultures that aren't our own. Hopefully, this implies the realization in all of us that the world of today is not one of passive learners.
Media Framing
The Aborigine people don’t have much of a positive image on television, the media easily and quickly modify their reports of the Aborigine issues towards stereotypes; often making the Aborigine people angry. When being talked about, the Aborigine’s are shown as lazy, violent, and somewhat savage like; news outlets often use irrelevant images of the Aborigines to either inflate news or create faulty news. These false accusations and exaggerated images of the Aborigine people often leave non-Aboriginal Australians terrified of the seemingly harmless communities.
